Introduction

TeamViewer is a simple way to access your computer remotely, as well as transfer files to your remote computer or your mobile device. This guide will focus on how to use your Android smartphone or tablet to connect remotely to your computer while you're away from home.
Before You Begin:
TeamViewer needs to be installed on your mobile device and computer

1 Get Your TeamViewer ID, Password from the Remote Computer

You will need to know your TeamViewer ID and either the Personal Password you set up when you installed TeamViewer, or the randomly generated password before continuing.

While this number should not change frequently, it can change if you add new hardware or update the operating system. It's always a good idea to check just before leaving the computer unattended to be certain you have the proper ID.

 

WindowsOn a Windows Computer
  1. Open TeamViewer from the System Tray.

  2. Or, if you can't locate TeamViewer on the System Tray, click your Start Menu and select TeamViewer.

  3. In TeamViewer, make note of Your ID. You will need this information to remotely connect to your computer in the future.

AppleOn a Mac Computer
  1. Select the TeamViewer icon on the top-right of your menu bar, and select Show TeamViewer.

  2. In TeamViewer, make note of Your ID. You will need this information to remotely connect to your computer in the future.

2 Connect to Remote Computer from Your Phone or Tablet (Android)

  1. Open TeamViewer on your Android device, then enter your Partner ID from your computer, and select Remote Control.

  2. Enter your password, then select OK.

    You can enter either the Personal Password you set up when you installed TeamViewer, or the randomly generated password displayed beneath 'Your ID' on the TeamViewer home screen.

  3. A short reminder will be displayed on the gestures your device supports. Select Continue.

  4. You can now control your computer using your phone or tablet, and display what you need on your phone screen.

3 How to Use the TeamViewer Controls in the App

The TeamViewer Menu

Close
Close X
Close your connection to the remote computer.
Keyboard
Keyboard button
Tap to bring up the keyboard for the remote computer.
Settings
Settings cog
Open the TeamViewer settings and adjust them. For example: Open settings to turn off the desktop wallpaper.

How to Control the Remote Computer

You'll use Android motions on your mobile device to control your remote computer.

4 Disconnect Your Android from the Remote Computer

When you've finished whatever you need to do on the remote computer you can disconnect it.

  1. Select the X on the toolbar at the bottom.
