How to Use TeamViewer on iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

1. Introduction

TeamViewer is a simple way to access your computer remotely, as well as transfer files to your remote computer or your mobile device. This guide will focus on how to use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to connect remotely to your computer while you're away from home.

Tools You'll Need:

  • A paperclip
  • iPhone charging cable
  • Access to a computer with iTunes installed
  • Any other non-consumable tools needed
  • Comment out tools section if no tools are necessary

Before You Begin:

You must have the TeamViewer app installed on your remote computer and iOS device

2. Get Your TeamViewer ID, Password from the Remote Computer

You will need to know your TeamViewer ID and either the Personal Password you set up when you installed TeamViewer, or the randomly generated password before continuing.

While this number should not change frequently, it can change if you add new hardware or update the operating system. It's always a good idea to check just before leaving the computer unattended to be certain you have the proper ID.

 

Windows

On a Windows Computer

  1. Open TeamViewer from the System Tray.

  1. Or, if you can't locate TeamViewer on the System Tray, click your Start Menu and select TeamViewer.

  1. In TeamViewer, make note of Your ID. You will need this information to remotely connect to your computer in the future.

Apple

On a Mac Computer

  1. Select the TeamViewer icon on the top-right of your menu bar, and select Show TeamViewer.

3. Connect to Remote Computer from Your Phone or Tablet (iOS)

  1. Open the TeamViewer app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, then enter your Partner ID from your computer, and select Remote Control.

  1. Enter your password, then select OK.

  1. You can enter either the Personal Password you set up when you installed TeamViewer, or the randomly generated password displayed beneath 'Your ID' on the TeamViewer home screen.
  2. A short reminder will be displayed on the gestures your device supports. Select Continue.

  1. You can now control your computer using your phone or tablet, and display what you need on your phone screen.

5. Disconnecting Your iOS Device From the Remote Computer

  1. Select the expander menu in the bottom-right corner, then select the X from the options.
