Introduction
Your DJI Spark is ready at an instant to capture the moment.
This guide will take you through the methods of using the camera with gesture controls, the DJI App, and the optional Remote Controller.
1 Safety First
As with all Drone flying, please keep the following in mind:
- Make sure you are properly registered with the Federal Aviation Administration, or qualify to fly without registration.
- Make sure you have permission to fly from the person or group that owns the land you'll be over.
- Make sure you are in-touch with the control tower before flying near an airport.
- Make sure there's no obstructions, such as power lines or trees, above your flight area that could cause problems.
- Make sure there's no one below your flight area that could be hurt.
- Make sure you are not near government infrastructure or other sensitive properties.
- Make sure the weather is safe to fly in.
- Make sure you keep your drone in your sight at all times, and get help from an observer if necessary.

2 Insert MicroSD Card
The Camera on your DJI Spark has a very high amount of detail, and does require a MicroSD Card in the drone to capture that full resolution and detail.
Without an SD card, the Spark will capture photos and video from the live-stream going to your mobile device, and store those videos and pictures on your mobile device.
With a MicroSD card inserted into your drone, they will be stored on the drone, at much, much higher detail and resolution.
The MicroSD card slot is under the rubber "SPARK" logo, just above the battery indicator lights at the back.
3 Still, Selfie or Movie Check
Your DJI Spark is able to take great still photos, as well as amazing videos. The process for each is slightly different.
