2. Camera Settings

The positions of these icons on the Camera App may also vary depending on the model of your Android device.

The LED flash gives your photo extra light when you need it. Tap to turn it on or off.

HDR

When you turn on HDR, several photos at different exposures are automatically combined to give you a single beautifully lit photo.

Timer

Timer

Tired of always taking the pictures and never being in them? Set your device somewhere sturdy, frame your shot, then tap. Choose a 3 or 10 second countdown, tap the Shutter button, then get into place.

Front Camera

Take a selfie with your Android's front camera. Tap, find the perfect angle, then tap the Shutter button. On some android devices, you can use the Volume Buttons on the side as the shutter button.

This is the main function button for capturing still images.

Zoom

Use the Camera app digital zoom feature to make something that's far away seem close by. Before you take the photo, pinch anywhere to make the image in the center of the screen bigger and remove the outside edges

If you want to zoom more than 2x or finely control the image, touch and hold 1x or 2x to get a slider that lets you zoom all the way to the limit of your device's capability.

The Camera app can be used to take a panoramic photo, automatically stitching multiple images together while you pan the camera across a scene.

The Effect button enables the addition of filters to your photos that gives them a unique look.

3. Record Video

  1. Open the Camera App.

  1. Touch the Video Recorder icon on the Camera App to start recording a video.

  1. The same button will stop the current video recording operation.
  2. Captured Pictures and Videos are automatically saved after you press the Capture/Record Button.

4. Access Images from Camera

You can find your captured images and videos by touching the small preview (thumbnail) in the corner of your camera app.

The thumbnail shows the latest picture that you have taken. Scroll left and right to view other the pictures and videos.

5. Create a Camera App Shortcut

  1. Touch the Android App Drawer Icon.

  1. Look for the Camera icon, but don't touch it yet. The icon's look may vary too.

  2. Touch and hold down the Camera icon and you will see the other icons go away. Keep holding the Camera icon.
  3. At this point you should be back to your main screen. Drag the icon to an empty part of the screen.
