How to Use the Wink App

1. Introduction

The Wink Hub 2 is a platform that allows you to connect a multitude of home automation devices that use Bluetooth LE, Kidde, Lutron Clear Connect, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave and Zigbee. You can then control all these different devices from one, easy to use app on your smartphone.

This guide will explain what you can do with your Wink Hub 2.

5. Install Android App

  1. Launch the Play Store on your smartphone.

6. Install iOS App

  1. Launch the App Store on your smartphone.

7. Add a Device

  1. Select Add to Wink.

  1. Select the category your device falls under or the barcode scanner.

  1. If you are asked to allow Wink to access the device location, select Allow.

8. Setup Account

  1. Open the Wink app on your mobile device.

  1. Enter your Email address, then select Next.

  1. Enter your First Name, Last Name, and choose a Password for your Wink account. Then select Create Account.

  1. Select OK to open the Terms and Conditions.

  1. Read the Terms and Conditions carefully. If you accept them, and wish to continue, select Accept.

9. Setup App

  1. Select Add to Wink.

Wired connection

  1. Select Next.

Wireless Connection

  1. Select Connect Using Wi-Fi Instead.

  1. Follow the prompts to enter your Wi-Fi network name and password.

Continue Setup

  1. Select Add To Wink at the bottom.
  2. Name your hub, to make it easier to find later if you add another hub or other devices.
  3. Setup is complete, your Wink Hub 2 is ready to use!

10. Control a Device

  1. Open the Wink app on your mobile device.

11. Create a Shortcut

  1. Open the Wink app on your mobile device.

  1. Tap the Shortcuts icon.

  2. Afterwards, decide what you want your shortcut to do by tapping Make This Happen.
