Amazon Alexa can help with a variety of tasks, including playing music. Voice commands like, "Alexa, play songs by David Bowie," or "Alexa, play the song Under Pressure," will have you quickly streaming music from your library or a streaming service.
2. Amazon Alexa: Link a Music Service to Alexa
Go to the menu and select Settings.
Select Music & Media, and then select the music service you want to add.
Select Link account to Alexa. A sign-in page then appears in the app.
Sign in by entering your account information for the service.
3. Amazon Alexa: Choose Default Music Service
Go to the menu and select Settings.
Scroll to the Accounts section and select Music & Media.
Select Choose default music services.
4. Amazon Alexa: Music Voice Commands
In order to ask Alexa to play music there are several commands you can use. Alexa will play music from your default music service.
Play a song: "Play some music.'" or "Play the song, '[title].'"
Play an album: "Play the album, '[title].'"
Play music by an artist: "Play songs by [artist]."
Play songs by genre: "Play some [genre] music." or "Play some [genre name] music from Spotify."
Play a playlist: "Listen to my [title] playlist." or "Shuffle my [title] playlist."
Adjust the volume: "Volume up / down." or "Set volume to level [number]."
Hear details about the song currently playing: "What is this?" or "Who is this?" or "What song is this?" or "Who is this artist?" or "When did this song/album come out?"
Stop the song currently playing: "Stop." or "Pause."
Play or resume paused songs or tracks: "Play." or "Resume."
Set or cancel a sleep timer: "Set a sleep timer for [x] minutes / hours." or “Stop playing music in [x] minutes/hours.” or "Cancel sleep timer."
Go to the next or previous song: "Next." or "Previous."
