Program Apple TV Remote to Control a Sonos Speaker

1. Introduction

The Sonos soundbar device you have connected to your television can actually be controlled with the remote that came with your Apple TV. That way you don't have to hang onto two remotes when you're using your Apple TV and your Sonos soundbar.

With your remote programmed to control your soundbar you can use it adjust your beefed up audio instead of having to balance the television audio and the Sonos Controller App.

In this guide, we'll go over how to use the Sonos app to teach your devices how to accept inputs from the Apple TV remote.

Tools You'll Need:

• Your mobile device
• Your television remote

Before You Begin:

Your Apple TV must be set up already

2. Program Apple TV Remote for Sonos Devices

1. Launch the Sonos App.
   

1. Select the More tab.
   

1. Select Settings.
   

1. Select Room Settings.
   

1. Select TV Setup and Control.
2. Select Remote Control Setup.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions using your Apple TV remote to complete the set up process.
4. Your Apple TV remote can now control the volume on your Sonos devices.
