Repair Issues with Apps On Your Microsoft Smartphone

1. Introduction: Microsoft Smartphone: Repair App Issues
This will guide you through common fixes for most apps on your Microsoft Windows smartphone.
2. Windows Phone: Powercycle
Push and hold the Power button on your phone till a message appears on-screen.
Swipe down.
Wait till the phone powers off completely.
Wait 15 seconds.
Push and hold the Power button till the screen lights up.
If the phone is entirely locked up, and you can't get the message to appear on screen by holding the power button:
Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time.
After 15 seconds, the phone will vibrate, and restart. Release all buttons at this time.
The date and time may be wrong when your phone turns back on.
To fix the date and time:
Tap Start.
Tap Settings.
Tap Time & language.
Tap Date & time.
Enter the correct date and time.
3. Windows Phone: Internet Check
Open the browser, Microsoft Edge.
Try bringing up a few favorites, or try browsing to google.com.
If you are unable to browse, contact your mobile provider for help getting your phone back online before continuing.
4. Windows Phone: Reinstall App Check
Our next step is to uninstall, then re-install the app you're having problems with.
You will lose the settings associated with the app, and will need to sign back into the app, if necessary. Please have your username and password ready.
5. Windows Phone: Uninstall App
From the home screen, swipe left to see all your Apps.
Locate the app you wish you uninstall.
Tap and hold your finger on the app that you wish to uninstall.
A menu will appear, tap Uninstall.
Tap Yes.

Launch the Windows Store.
Tap the search magnifying glass at the bottom.
Search for the app you'd like to install.
Tap on the name of the app you'd like to install, then tap Install.
Windows Phone will take you to the Apps screen, where you can see the app downloading and setting up for you.
7. Windows Phone: Backup Check
Our next step is to reset the software on your Windows Phone, then re-install the app that's having problems.
It is important that, from here on out, you have a recent backup copy of your phone's contents. You will be removing and resetting everything on your phone.
8. Windows Phone: Software Reset
Resetting your phone will erase all content stored on your phone, including apps and games, text messages, call history, music, photos, etc.
Tap Start.
Tap Settings.
Tap System.
Tap About.
Tap Reset your phone.
You will be prompted, twice, to make sure you want to do this. Tap Yes for each.
Factory reset can take a while, be patient while the process completes.
