1. Introduction: August Home: Repair App Issues

While your August Connect can wirelessly attach locks to your Smartphone with your August Home App, sometimes they have issues with that connection.

Follow this guide to resolve those issues.

2. August Home: Verify Connection

1. Open your August Home App.
   

1. If the Wi-Fi icon is gray, Wi-Fi is off.
   

1. If the Wi-Fi is off, turn it on by tapping the gray icon. It will turn blue to show Wi-Fi is on.
   

3. August Home: Verify Batteries

If you've confirmed that the Wi-Fi is on, and you are still unable to connect to your lock, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Remove the faceplate on your lock and remove one battery.
2. Place the battery back in and pay attention to the color of the flashing light. If it is red you need to replace all the batteries.
3. After replacing the batteries (if needed) hold the button on your Connect for 3-4 seconds.
   

1. Try to connect again.

4. Android: Restart

1. Hold down the power button on your Android device.
   Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.
2. A prompt will appear on-screen. Select Restart.
   

If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.

• If you had to shut down your Android device, wait 30 seconds before turning your device back on.

5. August Home: Reinstall Android App

The next steps involve reinstalling your August Home App.

6. August Home: Uninstall Android App

Method 1:

1. From the home screen, press the menu button.
2. Locate the August Home app.
   

1. Press and hold your finger on the August Home app.
2. Drag it to the icon on the top of your screen where it says "Uninstall".

Method 2:

1. From the home screen, press the menu button.
2. Choose Settings.

1. Tap your lock in Lock Settings.

1. Tap Begin Scan to start connecting to Wi-Fi.
