The SnapBridge software extends the capabilities of your camera, allowing you the freedom to move away from the camera itself, but still line up, take the shot, and adjust on-the-fly, as well as reviewing the stills and movies you've taken recently, to be sure you've got the images you need with the ease of the touch-screen interface of your phone or tablet.

This guide will walk you through the basic troubleshooting steps to get Nikon SnapBridge working again with your Nikon D3400 Camera.

The SnapBridge software extends the capabilities of your camera, allowing you the freedom to move away from the camera itself, but still line up, take the shot, and adjust on-the-fly, as well as reviewing the stills and movies you've taken recently, to be sure you've got the images you need with the ease of the touch-screen interface of your phone or tablet.

This guide will walk you through the basic troubleshooting steps to get Nikon SnapBridge working again with your Nikon D3400 Camera.

  1. Hold down the power button on your Android device.

    Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.

  2. A prompt will appear on-screen. Select Restart.

If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.
  • If you had to shut down your Android device, wait 30 seconds before turning your device back on.
  1. Turn off the camera.

  2. Wait 10 seconds.
  3. Turn the camera back on.
  1. Swipe down on your screen (or up, if using a tablet) to access the menu.
  2. Hold down on the Bluetooth icon to bring up Bluetooth options.

This app requires location services to be enabled on your device to function properly.

  1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  2. Scroll down, and select Location.

  3. Make sure Location services are turned On at the top.

  1. Launch SnapBridge on your device.

  2. Try taking a photo, or browsing the photos on your camera.
  1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  2. Scroll to the bottom, and select About.

  3. Select System update.

  4. You'll see if there's any updates available, as well as when your device last checked for updates. If you wish, you can choose Check for update to make sure.

  5. If an update is available, you can download and install it here.

    Do not turn off your phone during an update, it can result in serious problems that would require a specially-qualified technician to fix.

  1. Launch SnapBridge on your device.

  1. Press and hold the SnapBridge icon till a menu opens up.

  2. Select Uninstall.

  1. Launch the Play Store on your smartphone.

  2. Select the search bar at the top.

  3. Type in "SnapBridge", then select SnapBridge from the list.

  4. Select Install.

  5. This app requires extra permissions. When prompted, select Accept.

  6. Once installed, you can select Open now to open it.

We will return to the app in a moment, our next step is to enable pairing mode on your camera.

  1. Push the Menu button.

  2. Select Setup.

  3. Scroll down, and select Connect to Smart Device > Start.

  1. Launch SnapBridge on your device.

  4. Your phone will locate your camera. Follow the directions on your phone's screen to complete the connection.

  1. Launch SnapBridge on your device.

  1. Hold down the lock/power button.
  2. Slide to power off when prompted.
  3. Wait until the phone is off.
  4. Hold down the lock/power button until you see the Apple logo.

This app requires location services to be enabled on your device to function properly.

  1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  2. Select Privacy.

  4. Make sure Location Services is turned On at the top. Look through the list of programs below, and make sure Cam Remote has "While Using" or "Always" selected.

  1. Launch SnapBridge on your device.

  2. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi.
  3. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  6. If an update is available, it will be displayed here.
    • If no update is available, it will show that here.

      • Select Download and Update to begin the update process.
      • If prompted, enter your passcode.
  1. Launch SnapBridge on your device.

  1. Open the App Store.

  5. Select Open to open the app now, if you wish.
