1. Introduction: Ring: Fix App Issues
This guide will take you through the basic steps to troubleshoot and repair basic problems you may encounter with the Ring app on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Ring Doorbell: Problem Choice
There are a couple problems we can take a look at with your Ring Video Doorbell.
3. Ring: Charge Doorbell
Using the included USB cable, connect your Ring doorbell to either a USB wall charger, or your computer.
The ring around the front button will glow and fill up slowly.
When the light on the front is a complete blue circle, your Ring doorbell is fully charged.
4. Mobile: Android or iOS
For the next steps, we need to determine what type of mobile device you have.
5. Android: Restart
Hold down the power button on your Android device. Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.
A prompt will appear on-screen. Select Restart.
If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.
If you had to shut down your Android device, wait 30 seconds before turning your device back on.
6. Ring App: Test Doorbell
While still near your router, push the button on your doorbell.
You should receive an alert on your mobile device showing you that someone is at your door.
If you're in the app, you should see a live video feed open instantly.
Close the video feed.
Go to where your doorbell will be installed (for example, your front door).
Push the button on your doorbell.
Again, you should receive an alert or see a live video feed open right away on your mobile device.
If the video feed is not as good as you want, you can try moving your router closer to the doorbell's installation location, or purchase a Ring Chime Pro to extend your network further.
7. Ring App: Speedtest
There are two scenarios in which you can test the internet speed when relating to a Ring device:
You can perform the test in the location from where you want to access the Ring device either over Cellular or Wi-Fi internet, to find out whether your mobile device has a good enough internet connection there.
You can perform the test where the Ring device is located while being connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Ring device, to find out whether the device itself has a good enough internet connection there.
On your mobile device, open a web browser and visit http://ring.com/speed.
Choose the Start button in the center of the gauge.
Wait for the test to complete.

21. Ring App: Takes a Long Time To Ring
If you are using your Ring video doorbell on batteries, it is designed to 'sleep', to save energy, when it's not in use. It will wake up when it sees motion or the button is pressed.
The process of waking up can take a few seconds. The process of re-connecting to your home Wi-Fi router can take longer, up to 30 seconds depending on how far away, and weak the signal strength is to the doorbell.
If this is longer than you would prefer, you can consider wiring your doorbell into your home so it won't go to sleep. Consult the user manual for details on this.
